A movie about a ghost (in loop)

Flares or ghosts are reflections and diffractions that occur inside an optical system. In manufacturing photographic lenses they could be considered an unwanted phenomenon1, however, in this case the ghost is deliberately ‘invoked’ and captured in several still images. Through a lenticular foil -another lens system- the ghost can exist in an apparent holograpgic motion, a loop, or a “light palindrome” that the viewer animates when slightly changing perspective.

Los flares o fantasmas son reflejos que ocurren al interior de un sistema óptico. En la manufactura de lentes fotográficos lo consideran un fenómeno indeseado, sin embargo, en este caso el fantasma es ‘invocado’ y capturado en varias imágenes fijas. A través de una lámina lenticular -otro sistema de pequeñas lentillas- el fantasma puede existir en un movimiento aparente, un loop o un “palíndromo de luz” reanimado al moverse de izquierda a derecha.
